Pre-course English in Vietnam

As an Australia Awards Scholarship conditional awardee, you may be required to undertake a pre-departure English language training of up to 12 months (depending on your English level), if you do not meet the English language requirement of your approved course at an Australian university.

RMIT Vietnam is the provider of the English Language Training (ELT) Program for the Australia Awards Scholarship conditional awardees in Vietnam.

Australia Awards Scholarship conditional awardees are placed in the most appropriate RMIT English Worldwide (REW) level based on their IELTS scores. Some adjustments are allowed as the result of a comprehensive diagnostic task taken by all awardees in the first week of each course.

Australia Awards Scholarship conditional awardees must attend at least 80% of the classes and compulsory workshops (i.e. pronunciation workshops) in a particular level.  It is expected that you will devote your time and effort to your ELT studies on a full-time basis. As such, conditional awardees should not continue working or attend work-related activities during their ELT studies.

After the ELT Program you would take the Placement IELTS test. If you meet the English and academic requirements of your approved course, you will be eligible to commence your studies in Australia. For further details relating to placement, please see our webpage and contact Vietnam-Australia Human Resource Development Partnership (VAHRDP).
