Counselling Service for New Australia Awards Alumni

With the aim of supporting newly returning Australia Awards alumni who may be experiencing emotional, family or work related issues, Aus4Skills has contracted a professional counselling company who will provide services to alumni who completed their studies and have returned to Vietnam within the past 12 months.

On 29 August 2017, Tay Bac University and the Aus4Skills program, an Aus4Vietnam investment of the Australian Government, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) today, laying the foundation for a series of cooperation activities until 2020 between the two parties to strengthen Tay Bac University’s leadership and management, reform curriculum and teaching methodology, increase academic support for disadvantaged students, and advance women in leadership.

The will to live of the CEO with disability

Thao Van, who is wheelchair-bound, two years ago attended the 10 week course ‘Enabling Women’s Safety and Child Protection’ course at Flinders University, Adelaide under an Australia Awards Fellowship. The course in Australia had great impact on her career and life and gave her more confidence to continue her work assisting people with disability. “Coming back to Vietnam, I realised that Australia had taken many practical and specific actions to promote the integration of people with disabilities,” the CEO said.

Alumni and researchers learn how to turn research into internationally published articles

Capitalizing on the success of similar workshops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City over the last two years, Aus4Skills organized a Training Workshop on Research Design on 6 May 2017 at Thai Nguyen University. This is the first time this workshop has been organized in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam.
