Australia Awards Scholarship 2023 Intake Round: Female applicants are encouraged to apply

The Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) are awarded to Vietnamese citizens working in government agencies and Vietnamese lecturers, researchers, staff of NGOs and companies to study a master's program at Australian universities in 2023.

Australia Awards Scholarship candidates will enjoy a world-class education in Australia, gain knowledge and skills, and build networks in various fields.

Women, people with disability, ethnic minorities, people living in rural areas and members of socio-economically disadvantaged groups are encouraged to apply. Applicants are assessed on their leadership attributes, academic competence and potential to make an impact on development challenges in Vietnam and promote relationships between Vietnam and Australia.

‘I’m pleased to hear that Australia will also provide 10 ASEAN scholarships in intake 2023. This is a prestigious enhanced award announced to mark the Australia-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and to advance the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP). On top of the usual scholarship entitlements, these scholars will have the privilege of participating in an Indo-Pacific Emerging Leaders Program, which will provide a range of learning, networking and development priorities,’ said Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, HE Ms Robyn Mudie.

To date, the Australian Government has provided over 6,000 Australia Awards Scholarships for Vietnamese nationals to study in Australia. On their return to Vietnam, Australia Awards alumni have often gone on to become leaders in government, the private sector, academia, NGOs and their communities throughout the country.

AAS alumni make significant contributions to the development of Vietnam, covering a wide range of professions from medical research, environmental management, engineering, women’s economic empowerment and social protection. Of late, many alumni have been essential to the fight against COVID-19.
