All applicants must achieve an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 or higher (with no individual band score of less than 6.0) or an equivalent TOEFL or PTE score before receiving a final unconditional offer of scholarship.

RMIT Vietnam provides English Language Training (ELT) for Australia Awards Scholarship conditional awardees in Vietnam.

Australia Awards Scholarships conditional awardees are placed in the most appropriate RMIT English Worldwide level based on their IELTS scores. Some adjustments may take place following a comprehensive diagnostic task completed by all awardees in the first week of each course.

Australia Awards Scholarships conditional awardees must attend at least 80% of the classes and compulsory workshops (i.e. pronunciation workshops). It is expected that all awardees devote full-time hours and effort to ELT studies. As such, conditional awardees should not continue working or attend work-related activities during their ELT studies.

After the ELT Program, awardees will take an IELTS test. Awardees must meet the English language and academic requirements of their approved course to be eligible to commence studies in Australia. For further details on course placement, please see here or contact the Australia Awards office in Vietnam.
