Fourteen Vietnamese scholars are preparing to embark on postgraduate studies at leading Australian universities under the Australia Awards Scholarships, supported by the Australian Government. Their departure coincides with the 10-year milestone of Aus4Skills, Australia’s flagship Human Resource Development program in Vietnam, which has been fostering education and skills development to strengthen Vietnam’s workforce. Looking ahead, Aus4Skills will continue to support Vietnam’s future leaders and reform priorities under its third Phase.

“For decades, Australia and Vietnam have shared a belief in the transformative power of education. These scholarships embody that vision—opening doors to knowledge, encouraging meaningful exchange, and creating friendships that last a lifetime,” said Ms Naomi Cook, Development Counsellor at the Australian Embassy.
Over the last decade, 514 Australia Awards Scholarships have been awarded through Aus4Skills, contributing to a national alumni network of more than 160,000 graduates driving change across Vietnam. This vibrant community is making an impact across sectors—from government and civil society to academia and business—advancing reforms in health, education, gender equality, environment, infrastructure, and digital transformation. Their leadership and expertise are helping Vietnam tackle challenges and seize opportunities for sustainable growth nationwide.
Many alumni have strengthened gender equality policies, revamped civil service training, championed digital transformation, and pioneered inclusive education.
One of the departing scholars, Ha Quynh Nga, who will study Master of Public Policy at Monash University, shared: “I am excited to be taking my career and education further by studying in Australia. I hope to learn from international best practices in designing financial and enterprise-support policies that can enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses, foster innovation, and reinforce the foundations for sustainable economic growth.”
